Rose metallic pink Mechanical Heart Magnetic Phone Grip attached to an iPhone case

Can You Wirelessly Charge With a Magnetic Phone Grip?

Yes, you can use wireless charging with a removable magnetic phone grip, but remove the grip before placing the phone on the charger. A decorative grip sits on the same magnetic area the charger needs, so it should not remain between the phone and the charging surface.

UNICOLOOM magnetic phone grips are removable accessories, not pass-through charging devices. Take the grip off, charge through a compatible phone or case, and reattach the grip after charging.

How to switch from your phone grip to wireless charging

  1. Support the magnetic base. Hold the phone securely and place a finger near the edge of the grip's magnetic ring.
  2. Slide or push from the side. Do not pull straight upward from the decorative bow, heart, cloud, pillow, mirror, or flower top.
  3. Remove the grip completely. Keep the grip away from the space between the phone and charger.
  4. Place the charger directly against the phone or compatible case. Confirm that the charging symbol appears.
  5. Reattach the grip after charging. Center it on the magnetic area before using the phone again.

Why the grip needs to come off first

MagSafe charging depends on magnetic alignment between the charger and a supported iPhone or compatible case. Apple describes placing the MagSafe Charger directly on the back of the iPhone or its MagSafe case and advises removing an attached wallet before charging. A decorative grip likewise occupies that connection point, so UNICOLOOM recommends removing it before charging.

You can review Apple's current charger guidance in How to use your MagSafe Charger with iPhone.

What if charging does not start?

First, check that the grip is fully removed and that no card, metal object, or other accessory sits between the phone and charger. Then confirm that your phone model, case, charger, and power adapter are compatible with one another. Follow the instructions supplied by the phone and charger manufacturers.

A thick case, a weakly magnetic case, or poor alignment can affect how a removable grip attaches and how a charger connects. UNICOLOOM grips are designed for MagSafe-compatible iPhone cases or a suitable magnetic ring; compatibility does not imply Apple endorsement.

Protect the sculptural top when removing the grip

UNICOLOOM phone grips include raised 3D-printed forms and decorative details. Pulling hard on the sculptural top can place unnecessary stress on those details. Move the magnetic base from the side instead.

The Mechanical Heart Magnetic Phone Grip is one example: its removable magnetic format lets the phone change from a decorative daily setup to wireless charging without making the grip permanent.

A simple routine to remember

Grip off, charger on, grip back after charging. This keeps the charging surface clear and avoids using the decorative top as a removal handle.
